‏ Proverbs 4:20-21

Parental Instructions.

After warning us to avoid evil, Solomon now teaches us how to do what is right. It is not enough to stay away from sin; we must also learn how to live in a way that pleases God. This means paying close attention to God’s word and being careful in all our actions.

v. 20–21: We should always listen carefully to God’s wisdom. My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart (Proverbs 4:20–21 a). We must welcome God’s teachings, remember them, and keep them close to our hearts. God’s word should guide us in everything we do.
