Proverbs 9:14-16
v. 14: “She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city” . Folly waits in public places, making her temptations seen and accepted by many. She acts as if she has authority and tries to make sin look popular and fashionable, so people feel pressured to join in. v. 15–16: Folly targets “passengers who go right on their ways” (Proverbs 9:15 a). She especially tries to tempt young people who have been taught what is right. She calls out to those who are trying to do good, calling them “simple” and saying they need to experience her ways. Sin tries to make virtue look boring or foolish and promises excitement to those who leave the right path (Proverbs 9:16 b). –
