We cannot hide from God, no matter where we go or what we do. God’s presence fills all of creation, and His knowledge covers every part of our lives. David uses this truth to remind us that God’s care and attention are constant, and that we should live with respect and trust in Him. v. 7-10 : David asks, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” (Psalm 139:7 ). He knows that it is impossible to escape God. If he goes up to heaven, God is there. If he goes down to the grave or the deepest place, God is there too. Even if he could travel as fast as the morning light to the farthest sea, God would still be with him, leading and holding him. God’s presence is everywhere in the universe (Jeremiah 23:24 ). Even when people try to run from God, like Jonah did, they cannot escape His reach.
