Psalms 26:4-5
v. 4-5: David continues, I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked(Psalm 26:4-5 a). He has always avoided the company of people who do evil or pretend to be good. David refuses to join in their plans or make close friends with them. He even dislikes being with those who are simply foolish and empty, because their influence can be dangerous. David’s choice to stay away from bad company is a sign of his integrity. He also knows that just as good people encourage each other to do good, bad people become worse together. This is an example for all believers, as the Bible says, save yourselves from this untoward generation(Acts 2:40 b). –
