‏ Psalms 4:8

v. 8: David ends by saying, I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8 a). Because David trusts in God’s care, he can rest peacefully, without fear. God’s presence gives him security, even when he is alone or in danger. This peace is not just for sleep but also for the end of life, knowing that God will keep both soul and body safe (Luke 2:29 b). Those who trust in God can leave their worries with Him and find true rest.

As we read and pray these verses (Psalm 4:6-8 c), let us remember that real happiness does not come from money or pleasure, but from God’s favor. We should seek God’s love above all else, trust Him with our problems, and rest in the peace He gives to those who love Him.
