Psa 43:5 | MHM | STEP | v. 5 : David encourages himself to hope in God. He says, “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God” (Psalm 43:5 ). Even though he feels discouraged, David reminds himself to trust in God. He believes that he will praise God again because God is his help and his God. This verse teaches us to speak truth to ourselves when we feel down, reminding ourselves of God’s faithfulness and love.
