Psalms 49:7-9
v. 7–9: No matter how rich people are, they cannot save the life of a friend or family member when death comes. The psalmist says, No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them (Psalm 49:7-9 a). Money cannot buy back a soul or stop death. Only God can do that. Even all the riches in the world cannot pay the price to save a soul. This also points to Jesus, who did what money could not do—he redeemed us by his own sacrifice (1 Peter 1:18-19 b). That is why loving Jesus should be more important to us than loving riches. – –
