He always tells the truth about God’s will. He was the first to rise from the dead and will raise His people too. He rules over all the kings of the world. Jesus loves His people, and He has washed away their sins with His own blood.

v. 5: Jesus Christ is called the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth (Revelation 1:5 ^a). He always tells the truth about God’s will. He was the first to rise from the dead and will raise His people too. He rules over all the kings of the world. Jesus loves His people, and He has washed away their sins with His own blood.

v. 6: Jesus has made believers kings and priests unto God and his Father (Revelation 1:6 ^b). As kings, Christians can overcome sin and the devil; as priests, they can come near to God and pray to Him. Because of this, they should give Him glory and honor forever.
