‏ Revelation of John 5:6

The Sealed Book

This section describes how Jesus Christ, the Lamb, takes the sealed book from God the Father. This is a key moment in heaven. It shows that God’s plan for the world is given to Jesus to carry out. When this happens, all of heaven and earth celebrate. The church, the angels, and even all creation join together to praise Jesus for His sacrifice, His power, and His love.

v. 6–7: John sees Jesus in the middle of the throne, with the four living creatures and the elders around Him. Jesus is both God and man. He is closer to God than anyone else. He appears as a Lamb that was slain, showing His suffering and sacrifice. The Lamb has seven horns and seven eyes, which means He has perfect power and perfect wisdom. The seven eyes are the seven Spirits of God, showing that Jesus has the Holy Spirit in full. Jesus steps forward and takes the book from God’s right hand. He does not take it by force, but because He is worthy and has the right. God gives Him this honor with joy, and Jesus is happy to do His Father’s will (Revelation 5:7 a).
