Romans 12:21
v. 21: This verse presents a paradox: in strife, those who seek revenge are conquered, but those who forgive are the true conquerors.(1.) Be not overcome of evil—do not let the evil done to you disturb your peace, destroy your love, or provoke you to revenge. He who cannot bear injury quietly is conquered by it.(2.) But overcome evil with good—with patience, forbearance, and kindness to those who wrong you. Defeat their ill designs, change them if possible, or at least preserve your own peace. He who rules his spirit in this way is greater than the mighty.
