‏ Romans 15:16

v. 16: Paul says he has written boldly because God gave him the special job of being an apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 1:5 a). He is a minister of Jesus Christ, serving among the Gentiles just as God commanded (Acts 22:21; Galatians 2:7-9 b). His main work is to share the gospel of God. Paul compares his work to a priest offering sacrifices, but his “sacrifice” is the Gentiles coming to God through faith. This offering is acceptable to God because the Holy Spirit makes the believers holy. Paul wants the Gentile believers to be like a pure offering to God, just as the scripture says: In every place incense shall be offered, and a pure offering (Malachi 1:11 c). Only those who are sanctified by the Holy Spirit can be pleasing to God, as Paul also taught: Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1 d).
