‏ Ruth 4:3-4

v. 3–4: Boaz explained that Naomi was selling a piece of land that had belonged to her family. The closest kinsman had the first right to buy it back. At first, the man was eager to redeem the land, thinking it would be a good investment. Boaz gave him the chance to buy it before anyone else, showing fairness even though Boaz himself wanted it (Ruth 4:3–4; Leviticus 25:24–25 a).
