1 Samuel 1:18
18She said, “May I, your servant, find favor in your sight.” ▼▼tc The LXX reads as an affirmation: “Your servant [has] found favor in your sight.”
So the woman went her way and got something to eat. ▼▼tc Several medieval Hebrew mss and the Syriac Peshitta lack the words “and got something to eat.” The LXX reads: “went her way. She entered her guest room. She ate with her husband, and drank.”
Her face no longer looked sad. ▼▼tc NET follows the LXX: “her face was no longer fallen.” The MT reads: “her face, it did not belong to her any more.” The Hebrew is difficult to interpret; we may wonder if it is idiomatic for her expression having changed.
