26:1 a The first ancestor of the gatekeepers was Meshelemiah (called “Shallum” in Ezra 2:42 b; “Meshullam” in Neh 12:25 c).26:5 d God had richly blessed Obed-edom, who temporarily housed the Ark (13:13-14 e), by giving him many descendants (26:8 f).
