‏ Daniel 12:1-3

Summary for Dan 12:1-7: 12:1-7  a At that time, the time of the end, God will rescue his people and defeat every enemy—even death. 12:1  b Michael was Israel’s patron angel (cp. 10:13  c, 21  d; Rev 2:1  e, 8  f, 12  g).

• the book: This is possibly the Book of Truth (Dan 10:21  h; cp. 7:10  i).

• will be rescued: All previous rescues of God’s people in Daniel (e.g., 3:28  j; 6:27  k) had foreshadowed, and now culminated in, the resurrection from the dead (12:2-3  l).
12:2  m Everlasting life is completely without shame or disgrace (cp. Gen 2:25  n; 3:7  o).
12:3  p Those who are wise know their God (cp. 1:4  q, 17  r; 8:25  s; 9:22  t, 25  u; 11:32-35  v; 12:10  w).

• To shine is a familiar metaphor for life, purity, righteousness, and glory.
