28:30  a The Urim and Thummim (Hebrew terms that might translate as lights [or curses] and perfections) were apparently a pair of stones that were thrown down to get a yes or no answer from God. No physical description of these objects exists; their use is further explained in Num 27:21  b; Deut 33:8  c; 1 Sam 28:6  d; Ezra 2:63  e; and Neh 7:65  f.
