John 15:18
Summary for John 15:18-27: 15:18-27 a Disciples must be like their master in every respect, both in showing love and obedience and in experiencing the antagonism of those who oppose their message (15:20-21 b; see 9:1-41 c; 11:16 d). If the darkness is opposed to the light (1:5 e), and if Jesus’ followers are bearers of that light in the world (1 Jn 1:7 f; 2:9 g), they should expect the world to hate them in the way it hated Jesus (see John 17:14 h). Jesus’ disciples share his separation from and conflict with the world.
