‏ Luke 24:44-49

24:44  a the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms: Jesus referred to the three sections of the Hebrew Scriptures: the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings. The entire Old Testament points to God’s salvation through Christ.
24:46  b that the Messiah would suffer and die: See study note on 24:25-26.
24:47  c The Old Testament was the universal proclamation of the Gospel to all the nations: See Isa 42:6  d; 49:6  e; Joel 2:28-32  f; Amos 9:11-12  g; Acts 2:17-21  h; 13:47  i; 15:16-18  j.
24:48  k The primary role of the apostles in the book of Acts was to be witnesses to the fulfillment of Scripture in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus (see Acts 1:8  l).
24:49  m I will send the Holy Spirit: The Old Testament predicted that God would pour out his Spirit on all people (Isa 32:15  n; Jer 31:33  o; Ezek 36:26-27  p; Joel 2:28-32  q). This prediction was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:14-21  r).
