24:48 ⁱ The primary role of the apostles in the book of Acts was to be witnesses to the fulfillment of Scripture in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus (see Acts 1:8 ^j).
24:49 ^k I will send the Holy Spirit: The Old Testament predicted that God would pour out his Spirit on all people (Isa 32:15 ^l; Jer 31:33 ^m; Ezek 36:26-27 ⁿ; Joel 2:28-32 ^o). This prediction was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:14-21 ^p).
