14:71 k Peter swore: He took an oath that his denial was true.
14:72 l Upon Peter’s third denial, the rooster crowed the second time and Jesus’ prediction was fulfilled (14:30 m). While Jesus stood boldly before the Sanhedrin, Peter quailed before those with little power, cursed Jesus, and swore that he did not know him. Recalling Jesus’ words, Peter wept.
