Falsely acquired wealth, unethical business practices, threats, and violence characterized this supposed people of God (see 2 Kgs 6:25 ^l; Hos 12:7-8 ^m; Amos 8:5-6 ⁿ). They could not change, because lying was their way of life (cp. Prov 6:16-19 ^o). Israel was completely corrupt.
