‏ Psalms 91:11-15

91:11  a he will order his angels: Satan cited these words when he tempted Jesus (Matt 4:6  b; Luke 4:10-11  c), but God makes this promise for those who obey him (Ps 91:14  d), not for those who arrogantly test him (Matt 4:4  e, 7  f).
Summary for Ps 91:14-16: 91:14-16  g The godly can trust the Lord’s protection and provision. 91:14  h Those who love the Lord will obey him (Deut 30:20  i; 1 Jn 5:3  j) and seek his protection (Pss 91:1  k; 145:18  l).
91:15  m The Lord promises to answer the prayers of his people.

• The Psalter often speaks of people honoring the Lord (50:15  n); here, God promises to honor the godly who risk everything for his sake (62:7  o; 71:21  p; 84:11  q).
