‏ Revelation of John 19:19-21

19:20  a beast ... false prophet See 13:1-10  b.

• The fiery lake of burning sulfur provides a picture of eternal punishment (see 20:10  c, 14-15  d; 21:8  e; see also Isa 66:24  f; Matt 13:41  g, 49-50  h; Mark 9:43  i, 48  j).

• God’s enemies are thrown into the fiery lake. The two beasts (Rev 19:20  k) are followed by the dragon (20:10  l) and then by death (20:14  m) and unsaved humans (20:15  n).
19:21  o The entire army of enemies is dispatched by the sword from Christ’s mouth (see 1:16  p; 2:12  q, 16  r; see also Isa 11:4  s; 49:2  t; 2 Thes 2:8  u). While one side of God’s word (grace) leads to repentance, the other side (judgment) carries out the death sentence.
