To the church of the bThessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

cGrace to you and peace.

eWe give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly

1Thess 1:4
For we know, mbrothers
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church
loved by God, othat he has chosen you,

because qour gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and rin the Holy Spirit and with full sconviction. You know twhat kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.
ὅτι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ἡμῶν οὐκ ἐγενήθη εἰς ὑμᾶς ἐν λόγῳ μόνον ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐν δυνάμει καὶ ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ

1Thess 1:7
so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

For not only has the word of the Lord adsounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth aeeverywhere, so that we need not say anything.
ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν γὰρ ἐξήχηται λόγος τοῦ κυρίου οὐ μόνον ἐν τῇ Μακεδονίᾳ

For they themselves report concerning us the kind of aireception we had among you, and how ajyou turned to God akfrom idols to serve the living and altrue God,
αὐτοὶ γὰρ περὶ ἡμῶν ἀπαγγέλλουσιν ὁποίαν εἴσοδον ἔσχομεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς, καὶ πῶς ἐπεστρέψατε πρὸς τὸν θεὸν ἀπὸ τῶν εἰδώλων δουλεύειν θεῷ ζῶντι καὶ ἀληθινῷ,
1Thess 1:10
and amto wait for his Son anfrom heaven, aowhom he raised from the dead, Jesus apwho delivers us from aqthe wrath to come.

καὶ ἀναμένειν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν, ὃν ἤγειρεν ἐκ τῶν νεκρῶν, Ἰησοῦν τὸν ῥυόμενον ἡμᾶς

ἐκ τῆς ὀργῆς τῆς ἐρχομένης.
