Isaiah 28:19

19As often as it passes through it will take you;
a  for morning by morning it will pass through,
by day and by night;
and it will be b  sheer terror to understand the message.

Jeremiah 4:6-9

6 c  Raise a standard toward Zion,
flee for safety, stay not,
for I bring disaster from d  the north,
e  and great destruction.
7 f  A lion has gone up from his thicket,
a destroyer of nations has set out;
he has gone out from his place
to make your land a waste;
your cities will be ruins
g  without inhabitant.
8For this h  put on sackcloth,
lament and wail,
for i  the fierce anger of the  Lord
has not turned back from us.”

9“In that day, declares the  Lord j  courage shall fail both king and officials. The priests shall be appalled and the prophets astounded.”

Jeremiah 4:19-21

Anguish over Judah’s Desolation

19 k  My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain!
Oh the walls of my heart!
My heart is beating wildly;
I cannot keep silent,
for I hear the sound of the trumpet,
the alarm of war.
20 l  Crash follows hard on crash;
the whole land is laid waste.
m  Suddenly my tents are laid waste,
my curtains in a moment.
21How long must I see the standard
and hear the sound of the trumpet?

Ezekiel 21:6-7

6“As for you, son of man n  groan; with breaking heart and bitter grief o  groan before their eyes. 7 p  And when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news q  that it is coming. r  Every heart will melt, and s  all hands will be feeble; every spirit will faint, and t  all knees will be weak as water. u  Behold, it is v  coming, and it will be fulfilled,’” declares the Lord  God.

Habakkuk 3:16

16 w  I hear, and x  my body trembles;
my lips quiver at the sound;
y  rottenness enters into my bones;
my legs tremble beneath me.
Yet z  I will quietly wait for the day of trouble
to come upon people who invade us.
