Psalms 48:5-6

5As soon as they saw it, they were astounded;
they were in panic; they took to flight.
6 a  Trembling took hold of them there,
anguish b  as of a woman in labor.

Isaiah 21:3-4

3Therefore my loins are filled with anguish;
c  pangs have seized me,
like the pangs of a woman in labor;
I am bowed down so that I cannot hear;
I am dismayed so that I cannot see.
4My heart staggers; horror has appalled me;
d  the twilight I longed for
has been turned for me into trembling.

Isaiah 26:17

17 e  Like a pregnant woman
who writhes and cries out in her pangs
when she is near to giving birth,
so were we because of you, O  Lord;

Jeremiah 30:6

6Ask now, and see,
can a man bear a child?
f  Why then do I see every man
with his hands on his stomach g  like a woman in labor?
h  Why has every face turned pale?

Jeremiah 50:43

43 “The king of Babylon heard the report of them,
and his hands fell helpless;
anguish seized him,
pain as of a woman in labor.

Daniel 5:5-6

5 i  Immediately j  the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, opposite the lampstand. And the king saw k  the hand as it wrote. 6 l  Then the king’s color changed m  and his thoughts alarmed him; n  his limbs gave way, and o  his knees knocked together.

1 Thessalonians 5:3

3While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then p  sudden destruction will come upon them q  as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
