song of ascents.

How happy is everyone who
fear(s) God or the Lord/ the fear of the Lord: No single English word conveys every aspect of the word fear in this phrase. The meaning includes worshipful submission, reverential awe, and obedient respect to the covenant-keeping God of Israel.
fears the Lord,
who walks in His ways! c
2 You will surely eat
what your hands have worked for. d
You will be happy,
and it will go well for you. e
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house,
your sons, like young olive trees
around your table. f
4 In this very way
the man who fears the Lord
will be blessed. g

5 May the Lord bless you from
Zion: Originally a term for the fortified section of Jerusalem and then, by extension, used for the temple and the city of Jerusalem both in the present time and in the future
so that you will see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life i
6 and will see your children’s children!

Peace be with Israel. j
