And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head.

As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.

This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptising.
