Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.

sent forth a
dove from him, to

waters had

When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.
And the
dove came back to him in the
evening, and
behold, in her
mouth was a freshly
plucked olive leaf. So
Noah knew that the
waters had
subsided from the
earth.

Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ‘Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

heart, “I will
never again curse the
ground because of
man,
for the
intention of
man’s heart is
evil from his
youth.

again strike down every living creature as I have

‘Do not be afraid, Abram.

Lord came to him: ‘This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.’

He slept with Hagar, and she conceived.
When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

conceived, she
looked on me with

As soon as he had seen the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister’s arms, and had heard Rebekah tell what the man said to her, he went out to the man and found him standing by the camels near the spring.

After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who then lived near Beer Lahai Roi.
