Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorised by Cyrus king of Persia.
So they

But Jonah ran away from the
Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the
Lord.

Jonah rose to
flee to
Tarshish from the
presence of the
Lord. He went
down to
Joppa and
found a
ship going to
Tarshish. So he
paid the
fare and went
down into it, to
go with them to
Tarshish,
away from the
presence of the
Lord.

In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.
Now there
was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha,
which,
translated,
means Dorcas.
She was full of
good works and acts of
charity.

Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, ‘Please come at once!’
