2 Thessalonians 1
Giving Thanks for Faith and Perseverance
1 aPaul, bSilvanus, and cTimothy, To the dchurch of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2 eGrace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We ought always fto give thanks to God for you, gbrothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is increasing abundantly, and the hlove of each and every one of you toward one another grows ever greater. 4As a result, we ourselves ispeak proudly of you among jthe churches of God for your ▼▼Or steadfastness

for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, ▼▼Lit at the revelation of the Lord Jesus

His mighty angels 8 yin flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who zdo not know God, and to those who aado not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9These people will pay the penalty of abeternal destruction, acaway from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10when He comes to be adglorified among His ▼▼Lit holy ones; i.e., God’s people
saints on that afday, and to be marveled at among all who have believed --because our agtestimony to you was believed. 11To this end also we ahpray for you always, that our God will aiconsider you worthy of your ajcalling, and fulfill every desire for akgoodness and the alwork of faith with power, 12so that the amname of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, in accordance with the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
