‏ Psalms 30

Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

1 I will aexalt You, Lord, for You have blifted me up,
And have not let my cenemies rejoice over me.

2 Lord my God,
I dcried to You for help, and You ehealed me.

3 Lord, You have fbrought up my soul from
I.e., the netherworld
Sheol;
You have kept me alive,
Some mss from among those who go down
that I would not igo down to the pit.

4 jSing praise to the Lord, you kHis godly ones,
And lpraise the mention of His holiness.

5 For mHis anger is but for a moment,
His nfavor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may olast for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will pnever be moved.”

7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You qhid Your face, I was dismayed.

8 To You, Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion:

9 “What gain is there in my blood, if I rgo down to the pit?
Will the sdust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

10tHear, Lord, and be gracious to me;
Lord, be my uhelper.”

11 You have turned vmy mourning into dancing for me;
You have wuntied my sackcloth and encircled me with xjoy,

12 That my
Lit glory
zsoul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will aagive thanks to You forever.
