The Victorious Power of the God of Jacob.

For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

1 God is ^aknown in Judah;
His name is ^bgreat in Israel.
2 His ^{▼▼Lit shelter} ^dtabernacle is in ^eSalem;
His ^fdwelling place also is in Zion.
3 There He ^gbroke the ^{▼▼Lit fiery shafts of the bow}flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the ^{▼▼Lit battle}weapons of war. Selah

4 You are resplendent,
^{▼▼Or Majestic from the mountains}More majestic than the mountains of prey.
5 The ^kstouthearted were plundered,
^{▼▼Lit They slumbered their sleep}They sank into sleep;
And none of the ^{▼▼Lit men of might have found their hands}warriors could use his hands.
6 At Your ⁿrebuke, God of Jacob,
Both ^{▼▼Lit chariot} ^prider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.
7 You, You indeed are ^qto be feared,
And ^rwho may stand in Your presence, ^{▼▼Lit since Your anger}once You are angry?

8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth ^tfeared and was still
9 When God ^uarose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah
10 For the ^{▼▼Lit wraths} ^wwrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.

11 ^xMake vows to the Lord your God and ^yfulfill them;
All who are around Him are to ^zbring gifts to Him who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;
He is ^{▼▼Lit awesome to} ^abfeared by the kings of the earth.
