‏ Psalms 76

The Victorious Power of the God of Jacob.

For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.


1 God is aknown in Judah;
His name is bgreat in Israel.

2 His
Lit shelter
dtabernacle is in eSalem;
His fdwelling place also is in Zion.

3 There He gbroke the
Lit fiery shafts of the bow
flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the
Lit battle
weapons of war. Selah


4 You are resplendent,
Or Majestic from the mountains
More majestic than the mountains of prey.

5 The kstouthearted were plundered,
Lit They slumbered their sleep
They sank into sleep;
And none of the
Lit men of might have found their hands
warriors could use his hands.

6 At Your nrebuke, God of Jacob,
Both
Lit chariot
prider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

7 You, You indeed are qto be feared,
And rwho may stand in Your presence,
Lit since Your anger
once You are angry?


8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth tfeared and was still

9 When God uarose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah

10 For the
Lit wraths
wwrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.


11 xMake vows to the Lord your God and yfulfill them;
All who are around Him are to zbring gifts to Him who is to be feared.

12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;
He is
Lit awesome to
abfeared by the kings of the earth.
